Choir Department Hits Stride

The Choir Department under the direction of Janay Bird, Choir Director at Erie High School has had much to celebrate lately!

EHS is sending two students to All State Jazz, and eight singers to All State Choir for upcoming performances at the Broadmoor in Colorado Springs and the Buell Theatre in Denver, respectively.

Our tenor and bass singers hosted a meeting of their peers from around the district and recieved instruction from a male guest conductor to better understand how to maximize their voices.  It was a great day of music and bonding for the boy singers from across the district.

Choir students were surprized by the number of singer to be accepted to the St Vrain Honor Choir this year.  64 students will proudly represent Erie High School in the performace later this year!  That’s the highest number of students EHS has ever had make it into the choir and represents the largest number in the district!

More details about each of these accomplishments may be found in an ErieTigerTimes article here.

Congratulations to Mrs Bird and her amazing vocalists for attaining these great achievements!  We look forward to your traditional Winter Choir Concert and Silent Auction this year on Monday, December 17th.  The Silent Auction helps support the program by deferring department expenses like new microphones for the fantastic acapella group at EHS, 5130.
