The St. Vrain Valley School District has PLC/Late Start Days once per month throughout the school year (except for October and January). These days allow teachers to meet in Professional Learning Communities to increase the academic rigor at Erie High School and improve teachers' Tier I Best Teaching Practices. These meetings take place from 7:45 - 10:00am.
On these days, classes do not begin until 10:15 am and follow a modified schedule for the rest of the day. CDC and Innovation Center classes are NOT held on these days. The schedule is as follows:
The State of Colorado has picked October 5th as the official day that public schools in Colorado count all students in their classrooms to determine funding for each school.
Coincidentally, this date falls on one of our scheduled Late Start Days. To remedy this, the St Vrain Valley School District has decided to hold regular scheduled classes on that day, Wednesday, October 5th.
Classes will be held that day on a normal Day 1 schedule.
First of all, please remember that Wednesday, September 2nd is a PLC/Late Start Day. Buses will run 2 1/2 hours later than their usual time so that teachers may meet in Professional Learning Communities.
Secondly, because of recent enrollment increases due to growth in our area, Erie High School is adding some additional class sections to our schedule to reduce class sizes.
This is an update of what's happening around Erie High School for the community and all of the Erie High School family:
Thanksgiving Break : EHS takes a week off from November 22 - 30th to gather with our families and friends to give our thanks for all that we enjoy. It's also a great time to work on missing assignments. Please take a look on Infinite Campus to get your grades back on track before the end of the term. :)
