EHS Update,  9/26/2015

Dear Students and Parents,

This is an update of what's happening around Erie High School for the community and all of the Erie High School family:

Regarding Student Fees: If you find a fee for a class your child is not enrolled, please disregard it and do not pay it.  We will be removing those shortly.  Sorry for the inconvenience.

Parent/Teacher Conferences, September 30th: Conferences will be held from 3:45 - 6:45pm.  This is a great time to discuss your child's performance so far this year with their teachers.

Cadaver Lab: Erie High School's Mr. Brungardt, in cooperation with Exempla Good Samaritan Hospital allows students to visit a cadaver lab to learn the wonders of the human body.

Wellness Newsletter from SVVSD: Take a look at the newsletter for tips on how to keep your family healthy.

F Messages: EHS' Dean of Students, Paul Stecina, will begin sending home messages on Thursdays about students who currently have one or more Fs in class.  The intention is for parents to talk to their children about what will be required to get those grades improved and to spend time over the weekend addressing work that needs to be completed.  If you have any concerns, please contact Mr. Stecina.

Take Your Parents to Lunch Day: National School Lunch Week is October 12-16 and SVVSD invites families to help us celebrate the week with Take Your Parents to Lunch Day!  We are encouraging parents to find a day during National School Lunch Week to join their student for lunch, take a Lunch Selfie featuring you, your student and your meal, and then send it to harter_sarah@svvsd.org for a chance to win a prize!

Girls Who Code Club: Wednesday after school Girls Who Code will meet to write computer programming in the Engineering Lab (T106).  Check it out!

Neat Article from SVVSD About EHS Instrumental Music: take a look at this write-up of our talented students and Mr. Carmichael's program.

Erie High Performance Arts Presents W;t: Come see these outstanding EHS students in the Fall Production of W;t on October 1st - 4th.

Homework Club: Freshmen who have an F will be required to attend Homework Club on Thursdays after school from 2:30 - 4:30pm beginning on September 24th.  It will be the students' responsibility to make sure they have a ride home from Homework Club.

Congratulations Erie Idol Top 5!: Congratulations to John Shultz, Christine Discenza, Katelyn Broerman, Jared Romero and Alia Brand for qualifying for the Top 5!  See you in the FINALS on October 5th, 7pm.
