- Student Enrollment
We continue to closely monitor wildfire activity around our community in partnership with the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office and the Boulder Office of Emergency Management. Firefighters have done an outstanding job closing the spread of the Cal-Wood and Lefthand Canyon Fires, and we are incredibly appreciative of their hard work and dedication to protecting our communities. We must remain vigilant and prepared for any changes to the fire’s activity, particularly with high winds forecasted for this afternoon through Thursday morning. Out of an abundance of caution, the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office has requested that we extend our closure of in-person learning at school in Lyons through the end of this week.
Beginning Monday, October 5, we will be implementing a hybrid in-person learning schedule for all students who are not currently enrolled in the LaunchED program. Click here to learn more. Comenzando el lunes 5 de octubre, estaremos implementando un programa de aprendizaje híbrido en persona para todos los estudiantes que no estén inscritos actualmente en el programa LaunchED. EHS Parents & Guardians:
In last week’s update, I shared briefly about the tremendous growth in our community and its impact on Erie High School. Erie is a great place to live, and many wonderful families are moving here to enjoy the quality of life and education we know so well.
I am pleased to inform you that we have received additional staffing as a result of this growth.
This is excellent for our school’s health and will help alleviate large class sizes in some subject areas. Today, the EHS counseling team began building additional class sections to accommodate this change in staffing.
Please be aware that student schedules will change. This may create a little turbulence in the short term, but the long term effects of smaller class sizes will serve us well in the long haul.
I will continue to update you when I have additional information to share. In the meantime, do not hesitate to contact me if you have questions or suggestions. Thank you for your support of Erie High School and GO TIGERS!
