EHS Begins New Math Honor Society

 Alpha Theta is a national high school and two-year college math honor society and more information can be found at 
As a club at Erie High School, students would help with math tutoring, attend Math Days at CSU in November (, compete in math competitions (at least one this year), and read math stories to elementary students.
Being part of Mu Alpha Theta allows students to apply for scholarships, gain leadership experience and mentor other students.
The eligibility requirements for students to be a member of Mu Alpha Theta are completion of Algebra 1 and Geometry, be in a third year of math and have at least a 3.0 math g.p.a. (more at
At Erie High School, members are required to attend twice a month meetings, volunteer at math tutoring, and be in a math class for all 4 years of high school.
Students who are not eligible for Mu Alpha Theta are welcome to attend the meetings and be part of math club. Each meeting we will have a presentation about something cool in math.
