Notes to Parents About Drop-Off

We at Erie High School would like to thank parents for their patience during morning drop-offs.  We understand that traffic can be tricky in the mornings at EHS and we are constantly trying to improve the experience for our students and parents, especially with the addition of the new Soaring Heights PreK-8 next door.

***Important Update: Please pull as far forward as possible.  We extended our drop-off lane to allow more traffic to make it throug more quickly.  Please pull forward as far as the Commons before letting your student off.***

Please consider this reminder to let student safety rule the day.  We would like to ask parents to drive slowly and carefully when students are present so that we can continue to ensure the safety of our most valuable resource: your children.

We have spoken with the Town of Erie about controlling the traffic lights during drop-off times to maximize the flow of traffic while providing a safe environment for our children.

Here are some Pro-tips for parents:

  1. We no longer have a "pinch-point" in our student drop-off.  When you reach the merge point at the end of our drive, please alternate appropriately (like a zipper) so that we can empty both lanes of drop-off traffic.
  2. Remember that students exit vehicles from both lanes.  Be aware of students when you are dropping off your child.

Safety is our primary concern at Erie High School.  Please do not lose sight of our primary objective while dropping your students off at school.

Thank you very much for helping us keep your children safe at school,

Erie High School
