- Student Enrollment
We continue to closely monitor wildfire activity around our community in partnership with the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office and the Boulder Office of Emergency Management. Firefighters have done an outstanding job closing the spread of the Cal-Wood and Lefthand Canyon Fires, and we are incredibly appreciative of their hard work and dedication to protecting our communities. We must remain vigilant and prepared for any changes to the fire’s activity, particularly with high winds forecasted for this afternoon through Thursday morning. Out of an abundance of caution, the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office has requested that we extend our closure of in-person learning at school in Lyons through the end of this week.
Beginning Monday, October 5, we will be implementing a hybrid in-person learning schedule for all students who are not currently enrolled in the LaunchED program. Click here to learn more. Comenzando el lunes 5 de octubre, estaremos implementando un programa de aprendizaje híbrido en persona para todos los estudiantes que no estén inscritos actualmente en el programa LaunchED. We spend much of our time helping students be prepared for the next stage of life. Preparing our students for college is integral to Erie High School’s Mission.
A growing concern of ours is the cost of college for our families and the staggering college loan debt U.S. students are incurring while earning their degrees. Last year Consumer Reports published an article (see full article here: Student Debt Crisis ) revealing the economic crisis that many college graduates are feeling.
So, are college degrees important? YES. In every measure of economic well-being and career attainment—from personal earnings to job satisfaction to the share employed full time—young college graduates are outperforming their peers with less education (Pew Research Center, Feb. 2014).
We want our families to be armed with the information to get there in the best way.
On Thursday, October 8th, from 6:00-7:15pm, the College Funding Coach will offer a free web workshop to all Erie High School parents. The purpose of this workshop is to help parents understand college costs and plan for the best ways to pay for them.
Please make attending this workshop a priority. You can register to attend through this link: Register for College Funding Coach Workshop
