US History

This course is designed for sophomores in high school and offers a basic study of the historical growth of the United States from the late 19th century to the present. There is strong emphasis on how historical events have shaped present life. In this course, the student will analyze historical events and patterns and relate them to contemporary events in the U.S. Students will analyze the impact of geography on the history of the U.S., trace the development of U. S. government and the rights and duties of citizens, and study the relationship between U.S. and world history. There will be class discussions, term papers, projects and other assessment tests.
