Community Update

Dear Erie High School families,

Thank you for your continued and ongoing support as we quickly proceed through the 2nd semester of the 2022-2023 school year.  We had an exciting and busy week at Erie both in and out of the classrooms, with our students continuing to shine in their endeavors with academics, performing and visual arts, and athletics.  I am proud of our students – they are working hard in the pursuit of excellence in all areas of their lives.

This week, the Longmont Times-Call featured a group of Erie High School students that won the state competition in the Real World Design Challenge.  This group of Engineering Senior Design students created a design for an unmanned aircraft designed to transport cargo weighing up to 4,400 pounds.  By winning the state competition, these students earned the opportunity to compete in the national competition in April.  I am proud of this group’s incredible achievement, and I feel very fortunate that these incredible opportunities are available to Erie High School students.

This upcoming week, we will host our 2nd-semester parent-teacher conference event from 3:45 – 6:45 pm on Wednesday, February 15th.  This is an important opportunity for families to connect with our teachers and better understand how their student is doing academically this semester.  It is a great chance to learn more about classroom curriculum, expectations, norms, and procedures.  I hope to see a great turnout of our families during this important event.

I hope that you and your family have a great weekend.  I look forward to another great week at Erie High School starting on Monday!

Sincerely,
Josh Griffin
Erie High School Principal
