Brandon Shaffer, Former President of the Colorado State Senate and current Executive Director of Legal and Governmental Affairs for SVVSD emailed EHS with some great news!  Last year the SVVSD Student Senate stood down because of COVID-19.  However, we are pleased to report that the club will be run virtually this semester!  As in years past, the Student Senate will meet every other Thursday from 3:30-5:00 and the club will run up until Spring Break.  The main difference is that Student Senate will meet via WebEx and will utilize breakout rooms for small group discussions.   Also, Dr. Richard Martyr, SVVSD school board member, has once again volunteered to help with Student Senate.  He has been part of the team for several years and once again, the Student Senate looks forward to his insightful assistance with the group. The first meeting will be Thursday, 1/21 @ 3:30 p.m.  The WebEx room where the meeting will take place may be found here.  A reminder email will be sent with an agenda early next week to those who plan to attend if you email Brandon Shaffer, Executive Director of Legal and Governmental Affairs for the St Vrain Valley School District. Students who may have graduated but participated last year may also join as well.
