EHS National Art Honor Society

The Art Department at EHS is officially opening a National Art Honors society branch! NAHS is about peer recognition, leadership, college and career preparation, recognition of your art program, and so much more. It is an honors society specifically geared towards artistically inclined students. Mx. Orellana will be running our NAHS branch, and is looking for driven students to help start our branch!

Those of you getting this email are invited to join because you meet one of the qualifications to join: You have a GPA of 3.0 or higher! The next qualification is that you’ve taken at least 1.0 credit of art classes. This is typically 2 semesters of art classes. If you qualify for joining NAHS and would like to join, please read on.

These are the qualifications for joining and maintaining a NAHS membership:

  • Maintain a B or higher in your visual arts classes.
  • Complete 15 hours of community service in+out of the school by April 20th 2023.

NAHS will focus on activities such as creating an EHS Zine – renovating the artwork displays in the school – getting our student artwork published in national magazines – college portfolio preparation or presentations from colleges – and much more!

If you’d like to join NAHS, please download and print the following application. Fill it out and give it to Mx. Orellana in T111. You can also get a printed application from Mx. Orellana, and return it to T111. Applications are due by November 4th, 2022.

Thank you for your help developing a thriving artistic community at EHS! Please spread the word about NAHS to your friends.

Sincerely,
