Stem Club meets in room S218 at 3:00 today.

Drop-in Math tutoring is at 2:45 today in S104 and 5.

Music Department Announcements:

Musical Valentines (Singing and Playing) are on sale for THREE days only this week, starting today Feb 6, 7, and 8th before school, after school, during all three lunches, and passing periods. The sales tables are set up out front of the main office, so don’t miss your chance to spread some love and friendship with this annual tradition. The cost of a song and card is $3, and you can add a piece of candy and a flower for $5. Musical valentines will be delivered on Tues, Feb 14th, throughout the school day. Thank you for supporting the choir and orchestra departments!

Congratulations to the Dance Team for placing 12th in the nation in their game day routine! Our Cheer Team leaves this week to compete at Nationals: good luck to them. 

Join the fun tomorrow at 3PM for Unified Basketball as they take on Main Street in the Main gym! It’s free and fun.

This is your school. We need to use our Tiger Pride and remember to pick up after ourselves – especially during lunch time. Help keep this school beautiful by picking up any trash you see and encourage others to do the same.

Congratulations to Abby Ruschak for being honored as the January Erie Rotary Student of the Month! Abby earned this honor for her service about self attitude and her commitment to supporting Unified Sports. Abby will have a designated parking spot in the front of the school for the entire month of February. Congratulations, Abby!

Robotics competes at Windsor Charter Academy tomorrow. Good luck to them!

Do you park on the back side of the school? Students will now be able to enter the school through Door 23 (nearest the portable buildings on the east side of the school), and Door 8 (nearest the cafeteria on the west side of the school) in the mornings from 7:15 – 7:45 am.

Sources of Strength will be meeting in the library today during all three lunch hours. Come on by, all are welcome!

The Winter Formal is tomorrow night from 7 to 10pm in the gym. Here are some helpful tips to help you prepare; 

  • Use the entrance closest to the gym 
  • Heels are not allowed on the gym floor. Consider different footwear or bringing a change of shoes 
  • Coat racks will be available but be mindful of any valuables you leave in your pockets 
  • Water and drink options will be available for students. Please remember that no outside food or drink is allowed.
  • We look forward to seeing you tomorrow night!

9th, 10, and 11th grade students: please remember to bring your charged iPads (and headphones if appropriate) tomorrow for the practice PSATs. Check Schoology to know which room to report to. The cafeteria will have grab & go lunches for purchase starting at 11:30. Students needing to ride a bus will need to be at the bus loop before 12:00 pm to meet their bus. Students in extended time rooms may catch the bus at 2:45 pm. Seniors will have an asynchronous learning day tomorrow.

Reminder: Wednesday will be a late start day.

Students, Have you completed your course registration for next school year? Registration in Infinite Campus closes TOMORROW at 3 p.m. Counselors will be available in the counseling center during lunch TODAY to help any students who need help completing their registration. 

Students who complete their registration on time will have more control of the elective course they take next school year. Triple check that you have this finished so you can get the courses you want!

These are amazing scholarship opportunities for students looking to continue their education. Please reach out to your counselor if you have any questions.

Attention all students:

On Tuesday, January 31st, all 9th and 10th grade students will be taking a practice PSAT exam and all 11th grade students will be taking a practice SAT exam. Please remember to arrive on time that day as we will start the exams right away. The exams on this day will be taken on your iPad, not on paper, so be sure to arrive with a fully charged iPad. Notification of what room you will be testing in will be communicated with you soon. Buses will run twice on this day with one pick up time at approximately 12:00 pm and again at 2:45 pm for any students needing extra time to complete the test.  All seniors will have an asynchronous day and will not be in the building. This is an excellent time for you to practice this exam in a low stakes environment in order to help you prepare for the official test in April.

Congrats to our EHS wrestlers who compete on Mead’s team. Erin Young finished 1st at the MLK Girls tournament over the weekend. Arrianah Parrish finished 4th and Gia Barela finished 6th! Brendan Young finished 4th at the Top of the Rockies tournament as well. Well done.

Happy Inclement Weather Day, formerly known as Snow Day! 

Block 1 starts at 8:30; Block 2 starts at 9am; Block 3 starts at 9:30; Block 4 starts at 10am. 10:30-11:30 Teachers will hold virtual office hours for students to have an optional scheduled time to check in and receive help on school work. Teachers will check email throughout the day. All in school practices and meetings are cancelled.

Welcome back Tigers! Today is a B day and it will be an Advisory schedule all week. Innovation Center and CETC classes started this week. Their bus schedule is posted around the school. Remember, you may have to leave your class early to catch that bus.

Front Range classes will start on Tuesday Jan. 17.

Spanish tutoring will begin on January 17th this semester and will continue to be held on Tuesdays in T100 at 2:45 for the remainder of the semester.

Math tutoring will begin on Wednesday, January 18th and will continue on Mondays and Wednesdays after school.

Spanish tutoring will begin on January 17th this semester and will continue to be held on Tuesdays after school for the remainder of the semester.

Math tutoring will begin on Wednesday, January 18th and will continue on Mondays and Wednesdays after school.

It’s Finals week! Note this week’s special schedule posted around the school and on the EHS calendar. Breakfast will be available for purchase from the cart but there will be no lunch served. Buses will pick up at 12:40 on Tuesday & Wednesday and 11am on Thursday.

Are you stressing about finals? Do you want a place to study, get some tutoring, and have some cookies and cocoa? Join us for this study night!

Today after school please join us for Cocoa and Cram from 3:00 to 4:30 in the Cafeteria. Upperclassmen and teachers will be available to help and tutor. This event is geared towards freshman, but is open to all!

Today at 2:45 in room T100 is the last drop-in Spanish tutoring for this semester.

Last week NHS ran their annual food drive with all donations going to people right here in our own community. With help from our Erie High School students and staff, along with members of our community, we donated more than 800 pounds of non perishable food.  Now for the moment we all really care about: the B6 winners! All three of these classes will receive a donut party courtesy of Mr. Cooper. In third place with 74.4 pounds, we have Ms. Billigton’s class. In second place with 84 pounds, we have Grammy Tammy and Ms. Stowell’s class. Finally, in first place, with a whopping 240 pounds of food, we have Ms. G’s class. We do have an honorable mention, coming in at 83.4 pounds, we have the office. Congratulations to all who won, and a big thank you to every person who donated. We made a great impact on the community!

And don’t forget to slip into cozy slippers tomorrow for spirit week.

Attention students in Gifted and Talented: Many of you have not completed or updated your Advanced Learning Plans for this year, please check your school email- if you have not completed your ALP, we sent you an email with directions how to complete it. ALPs need to be completed ASAP. Next week, we will start pulling students from class who have not completed ALPs.

Attention Erie High School! Do you want to see your favorite (or least favorite!) teacher get pied in the face? NHS is raising money for the Food Bank of the Rockies, and we need your help! In your Schoology class page, you will find an update with a link to vote on the teachers you’d like to see pied in the face! Next week, we will be collecting donations during lunch and whichever class donates the most money, gets to nominate students to pie the teachers! So if you really want to pie a teacher, make sure to bring cash next week! The teachers who are getting pied by popular vote will be announced Friday at the end of the day.

The University of the Pacific is conducting a Zoom call at 3pm today.

Wednesday after school Math Tutoring will be canceled this week due to parent-teacher conferences. 

The EHS Jazz Band concert starts at 7 tonight in the Commons, after Parent/Teacher Conferences.

Tomorrow, October 12th,  all 9th, 10th, and 11th grade students will be taking either the practice PSAT 9, practice PSAT 10, or the NMSQT (11th). Seniors will have an asynchronous day of learning. All 9th, 10th, and 11th grade students will need to check your class Schoology to verify what room you will be reporting to in the morning for testing.  When your testing group is done you will be dismissed for the day. Afternoon buses will run at 1:00pm and 2:45pm

9th and 10th grade: You must bring your charged iPad with you tomorrow, 2 pencils, and a calculator

11th grade: You must bring with you 2 #2 pencils, and an approved College Board calculator

Show up tomorrow for yourself and do the best you can. We believe in you and know you are going to do great!

12th grade: Tomorrow is an asynchronous learning day for you. You will not show up for any classes tomorrow. 

Bike to School day is this Thursday, October 13th. Instead of driving to school, hop on your bike and ride to school to help reduce carbon emissions. Green Team will be handing out donuts by the bike racks in the morning for all the bikers! If you can’t bike to school, try to carpool with a friend.

Big congratulations to Joe Green and David McCool, they advanced to 5A state Tennis! They compete at City Park on Thursday. Also, congratulations to Evan Kraus for finishing 2nd at leagues and Logan Maddox for placing 11th on Friday. Our XC teams finished 5th and 10th in league. Football picked up a win on Friday VS Monarch. Softball also finished up their regular season in 1st place in their league. Well done, Tigers!

Attention all current and former Anatomy & Physiology and AP Biology students. Are you interested in the Cadaver Lab opportunity? Sign up for the Fall 2022 Cadaver Lab at the Red Rocks Community College Arvada Campus. The Cadaver Lab will be offered on Friday, October 21st at 5:30pm and Thursday, November 3rd at 5:30pm. Please review your email and pick up your packet from Mrs. Frank. To sign up, bring both permission slips signed by you and your parents along with the payment to Mrs. Frank in room S118. Space is limited and is on a first come first-served basis. Sign up due dates per lab are in the packet.

Safety Tip of the Week:

Our restroom doors will remain propped open.  The purpose of this is to provide greater safety for students / staff that may be in the hallways or restroom during an emergency.  By propping the doors, individuals that are in/near the restroom during an emergency can close & lock the bathroom doors, providing them a safe place in case of a threat.

Don’t know what clubs to join? Come join us for Club Day! It will be happening during lunchtime on Tuesday the 13th (that’s tomorrow) near the lounge. At this event, you will be able to learn about all of the amazing clubs EHS offered. And, as a bonus, get candy for visiting the club tables.

Attention all current and former Anatomy & Physiology and AP Biology students. Are you interested in the Cadaver Lab opportunity? Sign up for the Fall 2022 Cadaver Lab at the Red Rocks Community College Arvada Campus. The Cadaver Lab will be offered on Friday, October 21st at 5:30pm and Thursday, November 3rd at 5:30pm. Please review your email and pick up your packet from Mrs. Frank. To sign up, bring both permission slips signed by you and your parents along with the payment to Mrs. Frank in room S118. Space is limited and is on a first come first-served basis. Sign up due dates per lab are in the packet.

Congratulations to our XC team who had a great showing at the Liberty Bell meet over the weekend. Ashley Keazer finished 8th and Evan Kraus set a new school record and finished 4th! 

One week from tonight our athletic department is hosting the Fall Bash on Briggs. Come down and hang out and support local businesses.

Safety Tip of the Week:

Our restroom doors will remain propped open.  The purpose of this is to provide greater safety for students / staff that may be in the hallways or restroom during an emergency.  By propping the doors, individuals that are in/near the restroom during an emergency can close & lock the bathroom doors, providing them a safe place in case of a threat.

Tomorrow is this year’s first Late Start Day. School starts 2 and a half later than normal. If you take the bus at a certain time, add 2.5 hours to that time for pick up.

Asian Culture Club has its 1st meeting today at 3:00 in room T107 and T108. Each month will focus on a different country. This is a non-committal club that meets the 1st and 3rd Thursday of every month.The 1st meeting will have food!

The Model United Nations club will have its first meeting today for all new and returning members.  Please come to room C100 at 2:50.  MUN members work in simulations as international delegates in United Nations conferences designed to solve problems facing the world in the present, past, and future.  It’s a lot of fun.  See Ms. Trinkner if you’d like more information.
