Please review the following information related to upcoming testing for your Erie High student. We are excited to offer the January 31 practice test opportunity to your student as a way to support preparations for the official College Board suite of assessments administered in April. We are additionally excited to offer the opportunity for students to take the College Board suite of assessments as a way to support post-secondary college and career readiness.

January 31:

  • All 9th, 10th, and 11th-grade students will be taking a practice P/SAT exam on this date.
  • Students will be testing on their iPad. Please help your student remember to charge their iPad prior to coming to school.
  • Students should check Schoology for information about where they will be testing. Most students will be testing with their Advisory teacher in their Advisory classroom.
  • Students will be dismissed at approximately 11:30 am and may purchase an optional grab-and-go lunch if they wish to obtain lunch at school.
  • Students will not have classes after the testing period.
  • Buses will run at 12:00 pm and 2:45 pm to support any students receiving an accommodation of additional time.
  • 12th-grade students will have an asynchronous day of learning.

April 12:

  • All 11th-grade students will take the SAT on this date. Further details about this day will be communicated in March.
  • 11th-grade students have an opportunity to add the optional essay portion of the SAT to the exam. This is optional and not automatically added as a part of the test. The deadline to register to add the optional essay portion is 10:00 pm (MT) on February 16th. Students will need to register, if they wish to add the optional essay, through their College Board account. We are unable to register students for them at the school level. Please refer to the attached flier or visit this link https://ehs.svvsd.org/2023/01/20/optional-essay-portion-of-the-sat/ for more information. Students opting into the optional essay portion of the test will take this portion of the test once the initial test is completed. The essay portion takes approximately one additional hour to complete. The SAT Essay is scored separately from the SAT. A student’s score on the essay will not improve or reduce their score on the SAT. Please review the information related to the optional essay portion of the test to see if it is right for your student. Contact your guidance counselor with further questions.
  • 9th-grade, 10th-grade, and 12th-grade students will have an asynchronous day of learning.

April 13:

  • All 9th-grade and 10th-grade students will take the PSAT 8/9 and PSAT 10, respectively, on this date. Further details about this day will be communicated in March.
  • There is no optional essay portion that can be added to these exams.
  • 11th-grade and 12th-grade students will have an asynchronous day of learning.
