S.M.A.R.T. Team Begins Work at EHS

Mr Brungardt has started a new science-based club at Erie High School: S.M.A.R.T. Team.  S.M.A.R.T. stands for Students Modeling a Research Topic. In these multi-faceted programs, students explore the invisible molecular world as they experience science as a process of discovery rather than a collection of facts. Students work as teams to understand a molecular story and to design and build a physical model of a protein that is the focus of a research project.

Students ultimately work to design protiens, 3D print the protiens, and present the story of their work to members of academia.  The ultimate goal of the team is to present their work in the National Competition.  You can learn more about S.M.A.R.T. Teams by visiting the website of their parent organization.
