Erie High School

Dear Erie High School Families,

I hope that you all had a great week.  I appreciate your ongoing support in sustaining our successful start to the school year.  At the time of this writing, I have worked 43 days in my role as Erie High School principal, 31 of those with faculty, and 26 with students.  With each passing day, I am happy to learn more about our great school and to meet more students, faculty, staff, and community members.  I continue to feel very fortunate to lead this great school.

I encourage our Erie High School families and community members to join us on Thursday, September 29th, from 5:30-7:00 PM in the EHS Library for the Superintendent Town Hall with Dr. Don Haddad.  This will be a great opportunity for our community members to connect with Dr. Haddad and to learn more about important matters in our school district, including student achievement, success for every student, school safety, district finances, and other important topics for our community.  With the growth and passion in our Erie community, I am confident that this will be a great chance for interested participants to deepen their knowledge of our great public school system in St. Vrain Valley School District.

I have been very impressed by our community’s level of support for our Erie High School performing arts and athletic programs so far this year.  As we wrap up September and proceed into October, we have many opportunities for Erie High School students, staff, families, and community members to support our Tigers!  Please review the Erie High School athletic calendar to keep tabs on the many competitions occurring each week!  Additionally, we have several exciting performances forthcoming from our performing arts students.

The EHS Theatre presents “The Odd Couple” on September 30th and October 1st.  We hope to see a great turnout from our community to support these hard-working Erie students and staff.

During the week of October 3rd, we have several additional performances from our incredible student-musicians.  Check out these upcoming musical events:

  • Our Fall Choir Concert on Tuesday, October 4th at 7:00 PM (Erie HS Auditorium),
  • Our Fall Orchestra Concert on Thursday, October 6th at 7:00 PM (Erie HS Auditorium), and
  • Our Marching Band performance at the SVVSD Band Night on Monday, October 10th at 6:00 PM at Longmont HS,
  • Our fall Jazz Band Concert on Tuesday, October 11th at 7:00 PM (Erie HS Commons).

Our vibrant school community is home to many hard-working talented students, teachers, staff, and coaches.  I appreciate the great support our community provides to these important student athletic and performing arts programs – I look forward to seeing great turnouts at these events to honor our students!

I hope that you and your family enjoy a restful, relaxing weekend.  Thank you for your continued and ongoing support!

Sincerely,

Josh Griffin
