Erie High School
Community Update – 11.04.2022
Dear Erie High School Families,

Thank you for your continued support of your child(ren) and our school.  This has been an exciting week at Erie High School, with great work achieved inside and outside of the classrooms of our school.  We are looking forward to our volleyball team’s CHSAA 5A state regional tournament at Cherry Creek High School and our football team’s home playoff game with Air Academy High School on Saturday, November 5th.  Good luck to our student-athletes in these important competitions.

School Safety & Security

As a school leadership team, faculty & staff, and community, we are fully committed to ensuring the safety of our students and community members.  At Erie High School, we are fortunate to have the support of two School Resource Officers who are members of the Erie Police Department, three Campus Supervisors, and strong administrative, office, counseling, teaching, and classified staff committed to the safety and well-being of our students, faculty, and staff.  The partnership between Erie High School staff and parents and families is integral to sustaining a strong school culture and safe environment.  We encourage all students, families, and community members to reach out directly to Erie High School personnel if they have questions regarding school culture and safety in our school.

AP Coursework at Erie High School

Erie High School offers 22 Advanced Placement courses as well as the AP Diploma program for its students.  This year, we are proud to share that Erie High School students are registered to complete a total of 1,466 AP courses.  This is the highest level of AP participation we have seen in the history of our school – we are proud of our students and grateful to our teachers for their commitment to academic excellence by way of participation in these classes.  AP courses offer students a great opportunity to engage with college-level coursework during high school, as well as the chance to earn college credit with successful performance on the end-of-year AP exams.  In just this school year, Erie High School students have the opportunity to earn over $1,000,000 towards college tuition through their participation in AP courses and exams.

With that in mind, please know that the deadline for our current AP students to register for the AP Exams is Tuesday, November 8th.  Parents/guardians can register and pay for their student’s AP Exams through RevTrak.  All registrations and cancellations after November 8th will incur a $40 late fee.

If you have questions about AP at Erie High School, please contact our school AP Coordinators – Assistant Principal Liz Russell at [email protected] or Counselor Rachael Browning at [email protected].

Thank you for your continued support and partnership.  I hope that you and your families enjoy a great weekend!

Sincerely,
Josh Griffin
