Community Update – 04.28.2023

Dear Erie High School Families,

I hope you all had a great week and that you and your family are looking forward to a great three-day weekend. This is an important opportunity for our students, staff, and families to refresh and recharge in preparation for a great last month of the school year.

I am looking forward to an exciting May at Erie High School. May is always a busy time of the year, but it is also a very exciting time! Our students will have many opportunities to thrive in their academic, athletic, and extracurricular endeavors.

As we prepare for the strong finish to the 2022-2023 school year, I wanted to inform our community that Mr. Justin Carpenter will return from leave to his position as Assistant Principal on Monday, May 1st. For matters related to athletics, please continue to work with Mr. Chad Cooper.

Several important school events are just around the corner. Please join me in supporting and encouraging our students in these important end-of-year events.

Best wishes to our students completing AP exams between May 1 – May 12. The schedule for AP testing at Erie High School can be found here. Please review these important logistical items with your child(ren) in preparation for these AP exams.

Our amazing musicians are preparing for their end-of-year concerts – we look forward to seeing a great turnout for these upcoming concerts:

  • Band – May 3rd at 7:00 PM
  • Choir – May 10th at 7:00 PM
  • Orchestra – May 16th at 7:00 PM

All concerts will be in the Auditorium – this is a great chance for our community to see our incredible musicians perform!

Our spring student-athletes are having a great season as they approach the crucial final weeks of the year. Best wishes to all of our programs as they enter the final league games and conference, regional, and state championship competitions. We love to see great support for our teams at their games – keep tabs on upcoming games and events on the EHS Athletic calendar.

I hope that you and your family have a great 3-day weekend. I’m looking forward to another great week at Erie High School to kick off the month of May! Please feel free to reach out with any questions you have regarding the successful conclusion of our school year.

Sincerely,

Josh Griffin
