Dear Erie High School families,

Thank you all for your continued support of your child(ren) and our school during this past week.  It has been a typically busy and exciting week at Erie High School, with our students moving closer to the completion of the school year, and our musicians and athletes turning in stellar performances in so many areas.  In the past week, Erie HS student-athletes have captured three conference championships (girls golf, boys track & field, and boys lacrosse), three girls tennis doubles teams qualified for the state championships, and our girls soccer team won their first-round playoff game against Denver North.  Additionally, our musicians have held two incredible spring concerts (Band and Choir), and I’m looking forward to the Orchestra concert coming up on Tuesday night.  I am proud of our students and grateful to their teachers and coaches for their commitment to teaching, mentoring, and supporting all of our students.

On Monday night, I had the pleasure of attending the 2023 College Signing celebration, where we honored the 22 members of the Class of 2023 that will go on to compete in athletics at the collegiate level.  It was incredible to see these young men and women on the cusp of continuing their careers in the sports that they love in college.  Each honoree chose one of their coaches to present them, and I was uplifted by the incredible stories and feats that our coaches highlighted when honoring these student-athletes.  You can see these outstanding student-athletes and their college destinations here.

As we look ahead to next week, the outstanding Erie High School Class of 2023 has only three more days of school remaining.  It is hard to believe that their senior year has transpired so quickly.  It has been a great pleasure for me to see these young adults excel as people, students, athletes, and artists during my first year as principal.  I wish our seniors an excellent final week at Erie High School and look forward to honoring them throughout the rest of this month.  Please join me in offering your support, appreciation, and well wishes to the Class of 2023 in the next two weeks!

Thank you all for your continued support of our school.  I wish our students the best as they work diligently to wrap up this school year on a positive note and look forward to seeing all that they will achieve in the next few weeks both in and out of the classroom.  I hope you and your family have a great weekend!

Sincerely,

Josh Griffin
