Community Update (September 1st, 2023)

Dear Erie High School families,

Thank you for your partnership in another great week at Erie High School. As we wrap up our second full week of the school year, we have hit full swing here at EHS.  Our students are working hard in classrooms, and are making great strides in their artistic, athletic, and extracurricular pursuits. Today, our Student Government hosted a great Pep Assembly to build spirit and enthusiasm as we kick off the school year and the heart of the fall athletic season.

We are excited to host our first home football game at 7:00 pm tonight at Tiger Stadium against Mullen High School.  One of the great things about Erie is the deep and sincere pride our community holds for our students. The student, family, and community support for our programs is outstanding, and I know that tradition will continue.  Good luck to our football team tonight against Mullen, and best wishes to our softball, soccer, and cross programs competing this weekend across Colorado and Wyoming.

Next week, on Wednesday, September 6th, we have our first Late Start Day of the school year.  School will start at 10:15 AM for students.  Students should make proper arrangements to arrive at school in a punctual manner on Wednesday.  During the morning, our faculty will engage in meaningful collaboration to support outstanding student learning experiences throughout the school year.

Also next week, the Erie High School Theatre Department is beginning its run of fall productions.  Over the course of the next three weeks, our students will have 13 performances of three different shows.  To learn more about their outstanding productions, and to purchase tickets to one or more of their shows, please visit the EHS Theatre Department website.

I hope that you and your family have a great Labor Day weekend.  I appreciate the crucial role you play in supporting the success and growth of your child(ren) during their time in our school.

Sincerely,

Josh Griffin

Erie High School Principal
