What a Time to Be a Tiger!

Leave it to the Erie High School Tigers to demonstrate excellence even in the face of historical obstacles!  Our school’s weekly update usually takes a moment to recognize an Erie Tiger who has done something amazing in the previous few days in an article called Spotlight on Excellence!  This week there was too much good news to limit our selection for this article to one person so we decided to mention several of the amazing feats that EHS students have had in the last week.

EHS senior Rudy Lopez was named the 2021 High School National Champion Wrestler in the National Championship meet in Virginia Beach, Virginia and becoming an All-American Wrestler!  Congratulations, Rudy!

Senior AJ Juenemann at Erie High School was named the winner of the prestigious Boettcher Scholarship entitling him to all-expenses at the in-state college of his choice.  This is the first time an Erie High School student has won this scholarship and AJ is one of four students in all of SVVSD to have won!  Great job, AJ!

For the second year in a row, Erie High School was named one of the best high schools in America by US News and World Report!  This honor is bestowed on schools in the top 40% of schools in the US.  Additionally, Erie High was named the number one school in all of Weld County.  It’s no wonder that we always like to refer to our students as the “best kids in America!”

These are but a few examples of some recent bits of great news in our student community.  We can’t wait to see what opportunities unfold over the weeks that remain in this school year!
