There’s only one way to go south on County Road 5

If you wish to turn left out of Erie High School, you must do so at the light at the end of the drop-off/pick-up lane. Left turns are NOT permitted at the stop signs of the north or south entrance/exit.

The reason for this is that when there is a lot of traffic, drivers are unable to see oncoming traffic well enough to judge if it is clear to turn left. When that happens, the person turning left may be t-boned at the intersection. After this happened a number of times a sign was put up on the stop signs indicating that only a right turn could be legally made.

For your safety and the safety of the people in your car and the oncoming traffic, please abide by this simple rule and either exit the school from the drop-off/pick-up lane or turn right and then turn left at the first intersection you come to.

Thank you for helping us keep our staff, students, and community members safe!
