Erie High’s Odyssey of the Mind team consists of Emma Kester, Katie Doolittle, Dillon Huselton, and Liam Lee.  They competed in Odyssey of the Mind’s State Tournament on April 6th in Castle Rock for Problem 3 Classics: Leonardo’s Workshop.  The team had to portray DaVinci’s workplace in an original, creative performance. The team recreated a DaVinci painting (Portrait of a Woman), made a three-dimensional representation of one of his works (tank), and recreate another of his works (zeotrope). Items were scored not only on the representation of the originals but the creativity of the materials used. The team won first place over Skyline, and the judges especially liked their pop-culture puns throughout the performance. Although they were invited to compete at the World Finals in Michigan, the team decided not to participate this year because it is during finals week.
