Construction south of EHS may result in delays

Over the next 5 weeks, a construction company developing the property south of EHS will be managing the process of importing almost 30,000 cubic yards of suitable fill dirt from a neighboring site located on Erie Parkway to their construction site located on the corner of Colliers Parkway and County Road 5 (CR5). During this time, there will be increased dump truck traffic on the following roads: Colliers Parkway, CR 5, Erie Parkway, CR 7, and CR 10. The truck traffic will be present daily between the hours of 9 am and 3 pm.

These haul hours will be followed in accordance with a request from the Town of Erie to restrict hauling hours in the area, so as to not add further congestion to the area around the middle and high school across from the project, specifically at the beginning and end of the school day.

The construction company is implementing safety procedures to mitigate negative impacts but it would be wise for anyone traveling to or from the school to be on high alert of construction vehicles and plan for delays. Leaving even a few minutes early translates into a big difference in terms of traffic.
