Dear Soaring Heights and Erie High Community,

Thank you for your continued patience and support as we’ve continued to prepare for the start of the school year with the delayed construction project on County Road 5. We have been informed that the Town of Erie’s contractors expect to successfully complete Phase 5 tomorrow, which will provide full access to both Soaring Heights and Erie High for the start of the school year. We would like to thank Mayor Brooks, the Erie Board of Trustees, the Town of Erie staff, the Erie Police Department, the developers, and the construction workers for their extra efforts in completing this project and their commitment to the safety and well-being of our students, teachers, staff, and community. Accordingly, we have made some changes to the traffic flow plans that were shared earlier this month.

Soaring Heights PK-8

• Both entrances to the school parking lots will be open. Please click here for a video of the hug-and-go lane protocols, and click here to access an interactive map indicating which entrance you have been assigned.
• Cars exiting the Soaring Heights north parking lot will only be permitted to exit north onto County Road 5 and west onto Flora View Dr. Cars exiting the south parking lot will only be permitted to exit north onto County Road 5. Please note that if you are turning north onto County Road 5, there is a road closure for west-bound traffic on County Road 10.
• School buses will use the same route established last year, with drop-off and pick-up on the access road between Soaring Heights and Erie High.
• If needed, the Erie Police Department will be on-site to assist with traffic flow and pedestrian safety for students who walk and/or bike to/from school during peak traffic hours.

Erie High School

• All entrances to the school parking lot will remain open, with minimal impacts. 
• The main school parking entrance, as well as the drop off lane will be accessible for cars traveling both directions on County Road 5, and cars traveling east on Colliers Parkway.
• School buses will use the same route as previous years, utilizing the bus loop west of the school building for both drop off and pick up.
• If needed, the Erie Police Department will be on-site to assist with traffic flow and pedestrian safety for students who walk and/or bike to/from school during peak traffic hours.
